Alcohol related problems are a major concern on college campuses worldwide. Many college students live away from their parents for the first time in their lives, and start drinking alcohol due to peer pressure as they try to fit in with their classmates and room mates. Campus life is often stressful and some students drink alcoholic substances to escape the problems .
Online alcohol abuse prevention programs are customized, so that individual students understand their own drinking patterns and behavior, so that they can take suitable corrective action. A course covers the following :
1. Factual information about alcohol - its influence on body, health , the medical risks related to drinking alcohol, how it affects learning and memory
2. Helps students understand the factors which influence their alcohol intake - media, family, culture, social situations
3. Assisting students develop their own strategies for coping with situations like parties, where alcohol is consumed in large quantities.

Monitoring the health of the students and staff on a college campus is an important priority for any campus administrator, since illnesses and ailments can adversely effect both academic progress of individual students as well as the overall atmosphere on the campus .
There are online tools available which monitor some of the most important concerns related to student health , which are:
1. Alcohol usage
2. Prevalence of smoking and other forms of tobacco usage
3. Ragging, violence and safety
4. Mental health, stress levels
5. Eating patterns, availability of nutritious food, disorders
These surveys can be administered to the students online. A student will usually be able to complete the survey in 30-40 minutes. The developer of the online survey tool will collate the data and present it to the campus administrator for further action.
